Agreed, worth it. But there is an exception to the principle of newer-is-better. The '07-'10 years had a cheaply made "Harmon" system, not the high quality "Harmon Kardan" of the R53 generation. Eventually MINI figured out they had screwed up and had HK design an updated system for the R56 generation. First available in 2011 models, I believe.

I had fiddled with the treble and bass and a bit of the equalizer and damn it sounds good. I didn't even go to max volume because it was already loud enough at 3/4s.
The H-K's are noticeably better. That's not saying they're worth the extra $875. Our 2014 and 2018 BMW's with H-K's sound better than the H-K on my 2002 BMW. I can't speak to the Adaptive M suspension. But, if you're fretting go ahead and spend the extra $900 (~$15/month for a lease or a 60-month finance note) and get it.

Which is easily going to run you a good $1,000 if you want it to sound better then the HK, and even then that would be debatable. If you want good quality sound, stock look, and no aftermarket headaches, (IE: the HK is supported and warrantied by BMW) then go with the HK. Just my opinion of course.
